Roles

  • Aesthetics

    • Director

      Course Levels: 410, 610

      Coordinate with the game directors to ensure an effective asset pipeline and lead the aesthetics sub-team in creating & sourcing assets as well as assisting integrating them into the games.

    • Engineer

      Course Levels: 210, 410, 610

      Work under the supervision of the aesthetics director to source/create assets needed by the game subteams and help to integrate these assets into the games.

    • Interactive Audio Designer

      Course Levels: 410, 610

      Working under the supervision of the aesthetics director to source/create audio assets needed by the game subteams and help to integrate these assets into the games. Supporting the aesthetics director via mentoring of less-experienced team members & taking the lead on specific sub-tasks.

  • Game Development

    • Director

      Course Levels: 410, 610

      Lead the conceptualization, design, development, and deployment of a specific game. Work with other leads on any cross-team dependencies & mentor/supervise the rest of their specific game sub-team.

    • Designer/Developer 1

      Course Levels: 210

      Support the game design and development activities for a specific game with mentorship from senior team members and the game director.

    • Designer/Developer 2

      Course Levels: 410, 610

      Support the game design and development activities for a specific game. Support the game director via mentoring of less-experienced team members & taking the lead on specific sub-tasks.

  • Web

    • Lead

      Course Levels: 410, 610

      Lead the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of the project website. Mentor/supervise the web sub-team while coordinating with other leads to ensure the website meets the projects' needs.

    • Designer/Developer

      Course Levels: 210, 410, 610

      Work under the supervision of the aesthetics director to source/create assets needed by the game subteams and help to integrate these assets into the games.

  • Production

    • Producer

      Course Levels: 410, 610

      Work with the faculty project manager to coordinate all sub-teams and maintain consistency (in the process, games, and overall team vision). Help coordinate with external stakeholders.

    • Marketing & Outreach Lead

      Course Levels: 410, 610

      Work with the producer, web lead, & game directors to ensure consistent external communications about echoes. Identify potential means of dissemination about the project and coordinate efforts to participate.

  • Tools

    • Engineer

      Course Levels: 610

      Support the technical infrastructure of the rest of the project team as needed. This may include setup & maintenance of production, source control, etc. tools as well as custom tool and library development as needed to support the current and projected future needs of the project.
