Team Organization

The echoes team is organized in a small studio format with faculty overseeing project management & direction with the help of a team of student leads.

Roles & Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

All Team Members

• Contribute to the progress of their team’s tasks
• Ensure work is appropriately tracked & documented in accordance with the echoes Google Doc, GitHub Project, and GitHub wiki templates.
• Attend (or watch the recording from) the weekly All Hands meeting
• Participate in any relevant sub-team/game meetings
• Keep their leads up to date on progress, plans, and problems
• Submit a weekly check-in to the faculty lead & producer
• GCIS-410 students should be prepared to mentor others and lead small sub-project efforts as needed.
• GCIS-610 students should be prepared to lead efforts within their domain, mentor other students, and proactively work to improve the processes and infrastructure for future students.

Leads

• Ensure your team actively maintains appropriate documentation leveraging echoes Google Doc, GitHub Project, and GitHub wiki templates.
• Establish sprint goals and plans that meet overall echoes milestones for the semester.
• Manage the team’s GitHub repository and ensure appropriate use of GitHub Project issues and pull requests.
• Ensure a consistent asset pipeline.
• Establish communication standards amongst your team, keeping everyone aligned and on the same page.
• Onboard new team members and introduce processes and expectations.

Potential Roles

⁺ Research related roles require enrollment in GCIS-410 or GCIS-610 and a prior discussion about research goals and proposed deliverables with the faculty lead(s).

^** echoes leadership roles require enrollment in GCIS-410 or GCIS-610 and generally require at least one prior semester with the team.
