Concept
Inspired by The Iron Curtain by Gail Hosking and October Crisis by Paulette Swartzfager. Play as a curious child in the 1960s, one too young to know the events going on around them. Your parents won't let on what's really going on, and they want you to be distracted with your toys and games. Slowly learn what your parents are scared of while you play, and piece together exactly what they aren't telling you.
October crisis
New Orleans became paralyzed. Florida began to be evacuated and people were pouring up through Georgia and the Carolinas…people sensed that they were going to die. Philip Francis Berrigan (October 22, 1962) i under the wooden cross beneath our classroom clock
Near the Iron Curtain
The noise of my childhood—so near the border with foreignness served up and unfurled. Always confusing about those Russians sure to attack at any moment. Phone calls at midnight—was it war this time? I learned to anchor myself
